Mr. Sanguansak Sanpen, a second-year student in our Bachelor of Science in Informatics for Digital Economy (International Program), on his invitation to the MCUT Language & Culture Camp in Taiwan! Date: August 5th - 14th, 2024 (10 days)
This camp is an extraordinary opportunity to explore the beautiful island of Taiwan, immerse in Mandarin culture, visit iconic attractions in Northern Taiwan, and experience the state-of-the-art educational and research facilities at MCUT. Highlights from the 2024 SUMMER CAMP MCUT Language & Culture in Taiwan by Mr. Sanguansak Sanpen:
By participating in the 2024 SUMMER CAMP MCUT Language & Culture in Taiwan from August 5th to 14th, 2024, I acquired several important skills. The daily Mandarin classes focused on commonly used conversational phrases, which I found both practical and essential. Learning Mandarin is particularly valuable as it is one of the most spoken languages globally, and being able to communicate in Chinese opens many doors. In addition to these hard skills, I significantly improved my soft skills during the program. The camp divided students from various countries into groups, requiring us to interact with individuals from different backgrounds. This experience pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and engage in conversations with people who initially seemed unfamiliar. As a result, I became more adaptable, observant, and effective in listening and responding.
Moreover, working in groups allowed me to develop my leadership skills. Some of my group members were introverted and hesitant to initiate discussions, which provided me with opportunities to lead and guide the group. Overall, the camp was exceptional. The university’s modern facilities and technology, along with the supportive and friendly camp buddies, made the experience unforgettable. This positive experience has encouraged me to consider pursuing the 3+2 Program.
This program is made possible by the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT), Taiwan, and King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), Thailand.
