On September 27, 2024, Asst. Prof. Dr. Dr.-Ing. Sunantha Sodsee, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Digital Innovation, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Siranee Nuchitprasitchai, Chair of the Bachelor of Science Program in Informatics for Digital Economy (International Program) at KMUTNB, visited the School of Data Science at Qingdao University of Science and Technology, China. The visit included tours of 7 innovative research labs, showcasing groundbreaking work in fields such as
1 Intelligent Analysis and Application of Spatial Big Data lab
The team’s research focuses on urban 3D reconstruction and change detection, monitoring and early warning systems for terrestrial and marine disasters, land resource management and optimization, and marine resource exploration and analysis.
2 Industrial Big Data Analytics Technology lab
This team specializes in analyzing, processing, mining, and visualizing massive, multidimensional, and multi-modal industrial data (including time-series, image, and video data). Their work also extends to process control and optimization.
3 Multi-modal Fusion and Visual Perception lab
The research team consistently focuses on areas such as multi-modal fusion for autonomous driving, visual perception in dynamic open environments, video object detection, multi-object tracking, and robotic vision perception.
4 Intelligent Optimization lab
The team is dedicated to exploring and innovating at the forefront of complex optimization problems. Key areas of focus include intelligent simulation optimization, resource scheduling optimization, and chip design.
5 Intelligent Image Analysis lab
This team conducts research in human behavior recognition and sign language generation based on deep learning, medical image analysis and interpretation, image segmentation and super-resolution reconstruction, remote sensing image change detection, and seismic fault recognition.
6 Intelligent Software Engineering lab
The team's current research areas include intelligent chemical safety technologies, graph neural network applications, multi-modal recommendation technologies, and human-machine collaborative software testing.
7Artificial Intelligence and Biomedical Big Data lab
The team’s main research directions encompass generative and explainable artificial intelligence, protein structure and function prediction, single-cell multi-omics and spatial transcriptomics data integration and analysis, AI-assisted drug design, medical image processing, artificial biological systems and synthetic biology, and biomedical big data mining and modeling.
The visit opens exciting opportunities for academic collaborations and research partnerships between KMUTNB and Qingdao University of Science and Technology.
