We were honored to welcome Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thammathip Piumsomboon from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, who recently delivered an inspiring talk on "Data-Driven Empathic Computing" at the Faculty of Information Technology and Digital Innovation, KMUTNB.

Dr. Thammathip, a leading researcher in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), shared thought-provoking insights into the applications of immersive technologies—AR, VR, MR—and AI, exploring how empathic computing can enhance human perception, collaboration, and trust in human-AI interaction.

His work through the QUADRIC Lab (QUAlia Design for Realities with Interaction and Collaboration) highlights the power of intuitive, intelligent user interfaces and extended reality systems to deepen connection and empathy in digital environments.

The session left our students and faculty both inspired and energized—a reminder that even small ideas can make a big impact when guided by empathy and purpose.
